MORE INFO FOR VOCAL EDUCATORS AND CHORAL DIRECTORS:
Dear Vocal Friends,
Thank you for your interest in the Jazz Appreciation Month concert at Carnegie Hall, April 19th, 2026. The event is an amazing opportunity to sing, perform, learn and share the great tradition of Jazz vocal music in a community of 125+ singers! Your students will perform on the Perelman Stage/Stern Auditorium, the largest Carnegie Hall Stage, in an event for which I will be honored to serve as the conductor. This is my personal invite to you to join us!
The event culminates with the concert NEXT YEAR, 2026, on Sunday, April 19th , but has three days of rehearsals leading up to the event in NYC. The residency rehearsals during the week of the concert are mandatory to allow for everyone to get together in one place before the concert, because the groups of singers will be from all over the world, studying the music in preparation with their choral teachers or vocal jazz directors separately in their local regions. Our coming together for the residency will also include the Tribe Jazz Orchestra that will accompany us on the Carnegie Hall stage. The residency is a full action-packed week! The MidAmerica programs at Carnegie Hall have a long history of choral productions. This evening will be an iconic one; the unique thing about our concert is that is a repertoire of all jazz.
