The North Carolina Arts Council, in partnership with North Carolina Central University’s Teaching Artist Certificate Program, will present Teaching Artist Tuesdays, an online workshop series kicking-off Tuesday, July 14.
The free online workshops will serve as a map for this state’s teaching artists as they navigate the COVID-19 landscape. Sharon Hill, Arts Education director for the N.C. Arts Council, and Lenora Helm Hammonds, director of North Carolina Central University’s Teaching Artist Certificate Program, will curate and facilitate the workshops.
Other collaborators on the training are ARTS North Carolina and the N.C. Department of Public Instruction.
Teaching artists in the state, as well as artists interested in learning about opportunities to teach, are invited to attend Teaching Artist Tuesdays.
Part Two: Creating Successful Virtual and Interactive Experiences
Tuesday, August 11, 3–4:30 p.m.
How do you best capture your artistry and share it? Which platforms are the best ones for your work? How do you get help with video and sound editing? A panel will feature tech wizards Sandra Davidson, Sam Gerweck, and Ai-Ling Chang (staff at the N.C. Arts Council), puppeteer Hobey Ford, and the artist and musician Pierce Freelon. A question-and-answer session will follow their presentation.
