THE EVENING CONCERT: Features a 7:30 concert with Shana Tucker, Natalie Boeyink, Lydia Dudley, Salome Serena Wiley, Shaena Ryan Martin, Jasmine Best and Lenora Zenzalai Helm,
The opening concert will feature women from the Tribe Jazz Orchestra who are also alums of NCCU Jazz, featuring, bassist Ginnae Koon, trombonist Tenay Harrell and others.
NCCU Jazz Studies is co-presenting with Tribe Jazz Orchestra, JazzGirls Day as a new department initiative and annual event. The event features cellist/vocalist Shana Tucker and bassist Dr. Natalie Boeyink, Lydia Dudley, Serena Wiley, Jasmine Best, Shaena Ryan Martin and Dr. Lenora Helm Hammonds.
JazzGirls Day - DAYTIME EVENTS will include jam sessions, workshops, mentoring and an evening concert. The event is free for all participants and open to middle and high school girls interested in playing jazz. Instrumentalists and vocalists are all welcome! Bring your instruments. Drums and amps will be provided.
